I have always loved dancing, but never having a dancing partner, simply didn’t find much opportunity to dance as an adult. After taking a Line Dance class on a whim, an enormous passion began to emerge. With a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, I eventually traded teaching in the school room for teaching in the dance studio. I currently teach multiple levels of ongoing Line Dance classes each week, plus a 6-8 week Absolute Beginner series at the local college, and a weekly Zumba Gold class. I’ve found I absolutely thrive on bringing moments of joy to others through dance.
In early 2019, I expanded my passion to choreography. In just a short time, my dances were being taught at Line Dance workshops across the nation. I competed in the 2019-20 US Line Dance Choreography Championship (USLDCC) qualifying events and placed 5th in the finals for Newcomer/Novice dance division.
My partner, Bradley, and I live in the mountains of North Carolina, adjacent to the National Park lands of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The parade of wildlife this location affords is a never-ending joy to us both, but we are especially fond of the black bears.
