Liz Atkinson always enjoyed dancing, but never having a dancing partner, simply didn’t find much opportunity to dance as an adult. After taking a Line Dance class on a whim, an undiscovered talent and passion began to emerge. With a Master’s degree in Education, she eventually traded teaching in the school room for teaching in the dance studio. Liz teaches Line Dance for Beginners in several locations around Asheville and is a certified Zumba instructor. “I’ve found I absolutely thrive on bringing moments of joy to others through dance.”

In early 2019, she expanded her passion to choreography. In just a short time, her dances were being taught at Line Dance workshops across the nation. Liz competed in the 2019-20 US Line Dance Choreography Championship (USLDCC) qualifying events and placed 5th in the finals for Newcomer/Novice dance division.

Liz and her husband, Bradley, live in the mountains of North Carolina, adjacent to the National Park lands of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The parade of wildlife this location affords is a never-ending joy to them both, but they are especially fond of the black bears.
